Marius, aged 27, currently occupies the 93th place in the WTA circuit of the singles test, being the best-placed Roman in the circuit.
The end of the previous season brought to Marius remarkable results in two Challenger tournaments in Brest and Bratislava, where he managed to reach both the semifinals and the final of the competition.
The debut of the current season was quite unconvincing for Marius Copil, being defeated in the first tour of the Pune and Australian Open tournaments, the only victories coming this weekend in the Davis Cup matches against the players in Luxembourg.

Robin Haase
The Dutch player, aged 30, currently occupies 42th place in the WTA circuit of the simple test.
If the Australian Open has been defeated since the first round, surprisingly by the Italian Lorenzo Sonego, Haase has managed to reach the semifinals of the Auckland competition and the quarterfinals of the Pune competition.
Haase’s latest matches took place this weekend in the Davis Cup confrontation between the Netherlands and France, where Haase was defeated by both Richard Gasquet and Adrian Mannarino.
Direct meetings
The match of the Sofia tournament will be the first direct encounter between the two players, not having the chance to meet up until now in the circuit.

The match seems balanced, with the two opposing styles playing. Marius will try to dominate the game with his offensive style, while Robin Haase will prefer the waiting game with long shifts behind the pitch.
